A 50 minute one-man show about the agonies and ecstacies of being a virgin at the not-so tender age of 27. Did I say ecstacies? I meant to say “more agonies” (though ecstacy in pill form does make a guest appearance at one point in this narrative). From kissing ugly relatives in France to being a wallflower at awkward suburban S&M house parties, our intrepid narrator has seen it all… and done none of it. *cue sad trombone sounds* The occult, petty crime, sibling rivalry worthy of Cain & Abel, cross-dressing, & embarassing bachelor parties will also be stopping by to enliven the show.
As Above, So Below premiered at Modified Arts in April as part of the 2011 Phoenix Fringe Festival, the show was created at Space55’s Solo Performance workshop (run by Kim Porter). Without the workshop and the use of the space, this show would not have been possible.
